What are you feeding that cat - The usual stuff
59
"What are you feeding that cat?" Delores asked her friend Mary, "The usual stuff, Why" said Mary.
"Oh my," said a concerned Delores "Well your cat seems pretty miserable, her fur is patchy and she smells bad too"
"Do you think so?" asked Mary unaware of her cat's unhappiness and her surroundings too. "Maybe it will go away, I can put her outdoors if it bothers you."
"I'm fine with your cat Mary, but maybe you shouldn't be feeding her the usual stuff."
"I see your point Delores", said Mary, "but the cat won't eat anything else."
Recently I was interviewed about the economy and it's effect my business. To the surprise of the reporter my answers weren't the story the paper was looking for.
I gave my answers to their questions, not the usual stuff. You see my business just experienced the best month in sales to date on top of it my business is art sales. Sometimes good news is no news at all. The article made the front page right next to the other stories of financial woes besetting the globe. As I read the article an interesting thing occurred to me. There was not one mention of my business or my success in the article. The entire interview with me was completely left out, which I'm thankful of now, and the write up was just another gloom and doom pity party story of pointing fingers, another words, the usual stuff. I wonder if any of the interviewees had taken responsibility for themselves and their business if they would have also been left out with no bad news to report? After all does good news sell papers? Or are we addicted to the usual stuff?
Yes, there is bad news out there and times appear very tough, we're bombarded with it, but there's a lot of good news out there that will never be reported. It doesn't feed the frenzy. I am alive and well today, and I was alive yesterday, and I'm figuring I will be tomorrow as well. I'm planning and expecting a lovely life coming my way. If you are reading this, I imagine you are alive and well too. I am hoping that you are expecting a lovely life as well, the usual stuff. You see Mary's cat was like our mind being fed the same old stale diet of what ever. To top it off Mary's cat wouldn't eat anything else, she was addicted to the usual stuff.
Now I used to feed myself a diet of the old usual stuff, and seemed my life was quite dramatic back then too. Like Mary's cat what I was manifesting stunk, and there where plenty of people around feeding off and into my usual stuff too. I was attracting all the other sick cats in the vicinity too. The good news is we can change our diet and it's by what we are feeding our mind.
And like any diet change its takes time, after all we didn't get the old way over night, so change wont happen overnight in the other direction either. This is like going to the gym, except the muscle we are working on toning up is out mind, by the way exercising and eating healthy will help in this process of clearing up your old usual stuff.
It takes baby steps to make big changes that will last a lifetime. Like many twelve stepper's say, "One day at a time" and that is the best way to achieve this process. Literally every day I do little rituals to help me clear the old vibrations out and bring in new higher cleaner and clearer vibrations that attract the kind of success and life I want to continue to have. One of these exercises tools are two games called the I Love Game another is Manifestation Playhouse. Your ego which thrives on drama and bad news cant be bothered playing games, that's child's play and when you say you are going to play a game, your ego gets smaller and quiets right down. Try it some time.
Another thing I do is keep a Positive Evidence Journal by my bed. At the end of the day if something, like an achievement that I'm proud of happened I write it down, before I forget! It's like my very own private success story. When Im feeling blue or off all I have to do to get back on track is start reading that from the beginning and before I realize it, I can see how blessed I am and excited for the next entry to come in to the book. I am proud of the book and it's a nice legacy too.
So my question to all you groovy cats out there, is, "What have you been feeding yourselves?" A steady diet of boo-hiss headlines or high vibrational purr-fection. I am wondering what you really want? What makes you happy and can you do a little somthing in the next 5 minutes to make your dream come true? Take some action to make your dreams come true, and be of service to the world and let your brilliance come through. Get to it.
We all have the power with in ourselves for a most successful and victorious life, however knowing this is not enough. At first, it's quite a thrill when you hear this or figure it out for yourself, but in order to hold that high thrilling and positive vibration we have to get into action of one sort or another and be persistent about these actions.
Manifestation Playhouse is a tool or ritual I use to get into the success mindset and move into action. I use this manifesting technique in my workshops and classes with my friend and co-creator Connie Stewart. Try it for yourself. You can read more about it here on http://hubpages.com/hub/Suit-up-and-Show-up

Randy, I LOVED your thoughts and feelings of the turmoil and fear gripping so many. What we focus and place our attention on DOES expand and create our reality. What a lesson for all of us. This does not mean we hide our heads in the sand, or where rose colored glasses (altho very fashionable!) We notice the events around us, but we CHOSE to focus the good, the lovely, the peaceful. Thank you for the reminder to all!

Hey RD, I love what you have to say here! If we fall into fear due to what's being reported in the media we risk losing our individualism, our hopes and dreams.
This country has not gone belly-up, as many would have us believe. People are not broke, we are merely becoming more discerning. As financial expert, Suze Orman says, we are experiencing a contraction, much like a woman in labor. New birth always follows the contractions!
Your business is thriving because you don't buy into the negative hype - good for you!
